Our History

Nabeelah Academy

Nabeelah Academy was established in 2019 by Dr Hassan Kofar-Na’isa Suleiman. The name Nabeelah means the Noble and Intelligent. The school is named after his daughter who is faced with learning disabilities. After Nabeelah was born she began to face these difficulties at the age of 5 years. Various medical attentions were sought and offered at different places. Consequently, specialists concluded that Nabeelah had learning difficulties and recommended that she was placed on special needs training. However, despite the difficulties, Nabeelah attended primary and secondary schools.

The difficulties encountered in bringing up Nabeelah inspired the idea of establishing a school for children with various disabilities, which resolved to assist concerned parents and promote Inclusive Education.

As a result of series of consultations from Special education experts coupled with hard work, dedication and collective efforts bore fruit, turning a one-time idea into reality known as Nabeelah Academy… for inclusive education.

Initially, the perception of parents of regular students (PRS) was quite not on the same page with the idea of an inclusive education at Nabeelah Academy as it was a serious matter of debate when they try to enroll their children, it took a long period of discussion between them and the management before they got convinced.

Additionally, even the teaching staffs were initially not convinced about the possibility of having the student with disability and regular students studying together in the same classroom, but today both staff and regular parents have now key into the idea. This movement to include students with disability in Nabeelah Academy has gained support from educators, researchers and parents, still in it very early stage the school can boast of two hundred and fifty (250) students and pupils among which fourty are disables. Nabeelah Academy was setup to provide quality education for all students.
